I love it when God uses daily life to teach me a lesson.
There are thunderstorms raging around us right now. They were raging at 3:30 this morning too. I know my dogs, and I know that thunder scares them silly. So, when it woke me up, I went and got them out of their crate…where they were barking and pacing…and let them sleep on my lap in the recliner, just as they’re doing now as the storms rage on. I was thinking about how nothing changed but their location to make them peaceful; that being in my lap where they know they’re loved and protected gives them peace and rest. God used this to show me that this is how I need to be when life’s storms rage around me. I need to figuratively crawl into His lap and trust that all will be well because He loves me and will protect me. The storms may not dissipate, but I will be safely resting in His love for me.
So grateful for my little dogs. They’ve given me so much love and comfort in their 6 years…grateful that I can give back to them and learn from their example.
Nancy, good word!
Whether in the calm or the storm he is our resting place.
Thanks,
Dirk
Nice!
When I first read here about Place being the difference in our peace, I thought that Nancy was writing about Heaven like I just did recently. But she was writing about being in His lap. Then I realized it IS the same Place, because eternal Life/Heaven/Peace is wherever we are with Him--safely in His lap in this Life, or in Heaven in the next.
One thing I didn't write in my Heaven blog was that after leaving Florida that first time, I resolved the feeling of being cast out of Paradise with the realization that JESUS is my Paradise! Paradise is wherever He IS! :-)
Thanks so much, Nancy, for sharing this moment with us all! Keep it coming…
